Tafalong Kakita’an Ancestral House (太巴塱祖屋) - Spectral Codex

Reconstructed ancestral house of the Kakita’an family, who historically presided over rituals, politics, and land rights in the Amis settlement of Tafalong (太巴塱). Every beam and pillar is carved with ancestral spirit motifs depicting origin myths. The original structure was destroyed by Typhoon Winnie in 1958; surviving pillars were transferred to Academia Sinica. Rebuilt in 2006 based on drawings by Japanese colonial era architect Chijiiwa Suketaro (千々岩助太郎). Visitation is by appointment only.
