Baxianshan Forestry District Office

Administrative seat of the Baxianshan Forestry District in Fengyuan, Taichung, the town where the lowland forest railway began its run east toward the mountains. The compound served the colonial forestry administration and continued as headquarters after the war, when the operation took the name the site still carries. A prominent wooden building among the structures here was once a guesthouse. In recent years the site has been marked for restoration and some buildings are now sheeted in metal; the Fengyuan Forestry Bureau Dormitories stand immediately next door.
