A Paiwan Indigenous village at 570 meters elevation on the western slopes of the sacred Shikejan Mountain. The settlement preserves nearly 50 traditional Northern Paiwan stone slab houses, among the best-preserved in Taiwan. Residents were forcibly relocated in 1958 and again after Typhoon Rita in 1972, but began returning to restore the village in 2001. Traditional ceremonies are still held on-site and the community returns regularly to maintain the ancestral structures.
