One of around 35 villages constructed specifically for refugees from the Dachen Islands in 1955. Initially it was home to 107 households and 426 residents. Recently it has stimulated interest in the media after an abandoned house was found to have a coffin hanging inside, but it isn’t clear whether this is a folk custom (空棺文化) or merely an individual quirk of a villager.
