Dagangshan Chaofeng Temple (大崗山超峰寺) - Spectral Codex
大崗山超峰寺

A Buddhist monastery founded in 1763 on Dagangshan, one of the “four great mountains” of Taiwanese Buddhism during the Japanese colonial era. In 1942 the Japanese military designated Dagangshan a fortress zone and forcibly relocated the monks downhill. In the post-war era, Hakka abbot Kaizhao led the return and reconstruction. Adjacent to the main hall is a vivid Ten Courts of Hell (十大閻王殿) exhibit with life-size figures depicting the punishments of the underworld.
