Originally Japanese colonial era technician dormitories repurposed in 1949 for shipyard workers from Shandong and navy NCOs from Shanghai and Zhejiang. Named by the Ministry of National Defense to inspire self-reliance and diligent nation-building. Surrounded on three sides by other military villages. Many households were relocated to the nearby Cuihua Public Housing (翠華國宅) complex starting from 2003. Demolished in the mid-2000s.
