Established as a simple bamboo-walled theater in 1954, hence the nickname Bamboo Stage (竹仔戲台). Much later on it was demolished and converted into the modern Xinzhonghe Theater (新中和戲院), the last second-run theater operating in Zhonghe when it closed around 2008. It was demolished shortly thereafter, and the site is now occupied by an upscale high-rise. It seems to have also been called Hesheng Theater (和聲戲院) early in its history. Huang Bingxi (黃炳熙) also managed this theater at some point, though it may have been in the 1990s.
