Yangmei Jingzhao Hall (楊梅京兆堂) - Spectral Codex

A former Hakka sanheyuan in the Bengpo (崩坡) area of Yangmei, built in 1893 by local gentry Song Chongyu (宋崇玉) and named for the Song family’s ancestral seat in the Tang capital region of Jingzhao (京兆). During the Japanese colonial period it served as a language school, one of the early institutions teaching Japanese to the local population. In late 2021 a development plan triggered an emergency campaign by heritage advocates and Song descendants to secure cultural-asset designation. The Taoyuan city government declined to intervene, and the entire compound was demolished in early 2022.
