Established in 1683, this small shrine is located in front of the tomb of the Five Concubines who took their lives after the death of Zhu Shugui (朱術桂), the King of Dongning (寧靖王), following his defeat by Qing dynasty forces. The temple was heavily bombed during World War 2 and many relics were obliterated, but it was rebuilt starting in 1948, and is now a national monument. In English it is also known simply as the Temple of the Five Concubines.
