An old martial arts hall built for prison guards. There is also a bathhouse immediately to the south of the old hall. In the post-war era it was repurposed for use as a dormitory. It was recognized for its heritage value in 2003 but left idle for decades. The heritage status of this and several related sites was reorganized under “the wooden buildings of the former Tainan Prison” (原臺南刑務所木造建築群) in 2020 and restoration efforts were soon under way.
