Sandimen Shinto Shrine (三地門祠) - Spectral Codex
三地門祠サンティモン祠

A small Shinto shrine established in 1933 in the Paiwan Indigenous township of Sandimen, then known as Santimon (サンティモン). The shrine originated as a commemorative site after the area was selected for kenkoku (献穀), a rice-offering ceremony to the emperor. It was built in Zhongshan Park (中山公園), across from the present-day Sandimen Township Office (三地門鄉公所). During the imperial celebrations of 1940 this was the only Indigenous settlement to receive the sacred flame relayed from Kashihara Jingū (橿原神宮), carried by Takasago youth runners from Akō Shrine (阿緱神社) in Pingtung City.
