A derelict theater on the outskirts of Bangkok in Samut Prakan. Its early history is poorly characterized but it operated until around 2018, screening adult films in its later years. It is sometimes referred to as State Cinema of Samrong (สำโรง) due to its proximity to that subdistrict.
Empty scaffolding where posters would have once been displayed.
Detailed view of the sign over the entrance.
Inside the lobby of the deserted theater.
A closer look at the ticket booth inside the lobby.
I am a web application developer, photojournalist, urban explorer, and history enthusiast passionate about the open web and documenting my experiences on this planet. This project was founded in the early 2010s and has evolved into a sort of personal Wikipedia of places that interest me (and often the photographs I’ve taken there). I’m originally from Toronto, Canada, but spend most of my time residing in Taiwan.
