Qigu Salt Mountain (七股鹽山) - Spectral Codex
Salt and sky

I captured this image about halfway up the salt mountain in Qigu, a rural district in western Tainan. This is just about the only view that excises out the remarkable flatness of the surrounding countryside or the tacky tourist nonsense at the base of the so-called mountain. Taiwanese people like to round out their roadside attractions with all sorts of weird and wacky sculptures and what-not but in this case I was most interested in the purity of the elements—of salt and sky.
