A rural elementary school in Qigu established in 1960 after splitting from Hougang Elementary School (後港國小). It served the burgeoning community of salt workers in the area while Qigu Saltworks was at its peak. The school merged back into Hougang as a branch campus in 2001 due to low enrollment, then closed permanently in 2008. The former campus now serves as the headquarters of the Taiwan Black-Faced Spoonbill Conservation Association (台灣黑面琵鷺保育學會).
I am a web application developer, photojournalist, urban explorer, and history enthusiast passionate about the open web and documenting my experiences on this planet. This project was founded in the early 2010s and has evolved into a sort of personal Wikipedia of places that interest me (and often the photographs I’ve taken there). I’m originally from Toronto, Canada, but spend most of my time residing in Taiwan.
