A Japanese-style wooden building set back from the main road in a grove of trees in Qigu, Tainan. It likely served as an outpost of the salt police (鹽警), who maintained the state monopoly on salt production through the Japanese colonial era and into the early post-war decades. Salt police were deputized to prevent salt banditry and smuggling but the system dissolved in the 1970s and the building was possibly repurposed for use as a regular police dormitory. The original station beside the main road was later demolished and replaced, leaving this dormitory behind. It remains abandoned and unrestored.
