The administrative center of Pulishe City (埔里社廳城), also known as Dapu City (大埔城), in the late Qing dynasty era. After the Japanese took over it was known as Puli Subprefecture Office (埔里社支廳). It was destroyed along with much of the rest of the old city in the 1917 Puli earthquake. Now the site of a branch of the Taiwan Cooperative Bank (合作金庫).
