Originally established roughly a century ago as Longshan Hall (龍山堂), a Longhua (龍華) sect zhaitang (齋堂), or fasting hall, of the Zhaijiao (齋教) folk religion. The hall was relocated twice, first around 1921 from its original mountainside site in what is now Zuozhen (左鎮) to the plains of Neimen and again around 1959 to the current site. A newer building has since been raised on an adjacent lot and renamed Longshan Temple (龍山寺) while the previous hall is in ruin immediately to the south.
