A Qing dynasty academy in Neimen, first proposed in 1812 by the Gongsheng (貢生) scholar You Hua (游化) and other local literati who considered the journey to the prefectural capital too far for serious study. It was completed in 1845 and drew students from across what are now the Neimen, Qishan, Meinong, and Xinhua districts. During the Japanese colonial era the building doubled as the campus of Neimen Public School, and after post-war land reforms stripped the institution of its endowment fields it was absorbed into Zizhu Temple (紫竹寺) in 1975, rebuilt by 1978, and now houses an elder activity center on the ground floor with a Confucian altar above.
