Established on the former site of a major Japanese colonial era timber processing plant, where logs felled in the Taipingshan range from 1905 onwards were sluiced down the Lanyang River and, from 1921 onward, transported by the Luodong Forest Railway. This park surrounds the timber pond an features a rebuilt Luodong Zhulin Railway Station, storage warehouses, and other infrastructure. It was listed as a historic asset cluster in 2004 and reopened as the Luodong Forestry Culture Park in 2009, with cultural landscape status added in 2012.
