Established in the late 1930s as Yamato-gekijō (大和劇場). One of 19 theaters nationalized by the KMT and renamed after the war. Closed in the late 1970s or early 1980s. Eventually it was demolished and turned into a parking lot. In 2019 it was replaced by a hotel with an unusual post-modern design.
