The first-generation martial arts hall in Hsinchu was completed in 1913. It was located next to the public assembly hall (新竹公會堂), which was constructed later on. There was also a second-generation martial arts hall supposedly built in 1936 but there seems to be some confusion about whether it was actually built or not. The hall was likely demolished decades ago, which only contributes to the uncertainty about this site.
