An ancestral hall in the back alleys behind the Zhulian Village Well, belonging to a Huang family who settled at Xunsipu (巡司埔) outside the south gate of Hsinchu some eight or nine generations ago. Its outer wings have been demolished for parking, but a plain brick gatehouse still leads to a more ornate inner gate, and the inner wings are hung with portraits and photographs of the family’s ancestors.

I am a web application developer, photojournalist, urban explorer, and history enthusiast passionate about the open web and documenting my experiences on this planet. This project was founded in the early 2010s and has evolved into a sort of personal Wikipedia of places that interest me (and often the photographs I’ve taken there). I’m originally from Toronto, Canada, but spend most of my time residing in Taiwan.
