A former police garrison in Nanshi (南勢), an Indigenous community on a river terrace above the right bank of the Dajia River (大甲溪) in Heping, where what appears to be the original Japanese colonial era building still stands beside the community development association. The settlement dates to 1927, when colonial authorities relocated households from the Baimao (白毛) and Aleng (阿冷) communities to this site; in 1930 these were merged with a third community into a single village known as Nansei (ナンセイ).
