The main commercial avenue of Neiwan, a Hakka village that boomed in the 1950s as a nexus for timber and coal coming out of the mountains further inland. The street declined sharply when forestry and mining wound down in the following decades. Surviving shophouses retain a vintage aesthetic alongside Neiwan Theater, the hilltop Neiwan Police Station, and a suspension bridge spanning the Youluo River. Nowadays it is a popular weekend tourism attraction with numerous snack stalls and leicha teahouses.
