Constructed over many years from 1967 to 1975, this Hoffmann brick kiln had a chimney more than 50 meters tall. It operated until 1992, after which more modern brick-making factories priced it out of the market, and it was left to the elements. In the early 2010s there was briefly some effort to designate the old kiln as a heritage property and revitalize the area, but around 2013 the entire site was levelled and eventually turned into residential units.
