:format(jpg)/taiwan/yilan/yilan-city/yilan-brick-kiln-1.jpg)
A representative example of a multi-chamber eye kiln (目仔窯) located on the northern outskirts of Yilan City. The lightly restored compound houses a row of brick-domed firing chambers, each operated independently and venting through connecting flues to a single 37-meter chimney. Production ceased in the 1980s, and in 1999 the site was slated for residential redevelopment before local opposition secured its preservation. It was designated a county monument in 2002.
