One of the last remaining buildings of Caoluo New Village (草漯移民新村), the first relocation site established for households displaced by the construction of Shimen Reservoir (石門水庫). The first 29 families from the banks of the Dahan River (大漢溪) were resettled here in 1956. The new model village provisioned with a police station, a village office, and this clinic completed in 1959. It operated until 2011 when routine care shifted to the larger Guanyin Township Health Center. Fires later destroyed the police station and village office, sparing only the clinic. After a resident-led petition campaign, the Taoyuan City Government registered it as a historic building in 2017.
