An impressive Mazu temple in Gangshan founded in either 1712 or 1798 depending on the source. The original compound was demolished by the colonial authorities in 1937 as part of an urban renewal program. Post-war reconstruction proceeded on the site of the former Gangshan Shinto Shrine; the temple still preserves a pair of komainu (狛犬) and the shrine’s mikoshi (神輿).
