Originally established in the Japanese colonial era as Kyōei-kan (共榮館). It was a multipurpose performance venue with a capacity of 800. In the post-war period it was renamed Zhongshan Hall (中山堂) and then Zhongshan Theater (中山戲院) before finally becoming Fenglin Theater. Demolished long ago, but part of the back wall still stands in an empty lot.
