A two-storey brick residence off Cuiping Road in Dashe, built around 1910 and later known as the ancestral home of Hsu Chuan-hsing (許泉興), a general manager of the Dashe Farmers’ Association. The house is a single row three bays wide, fronted by a two-level veranda. Its façade is clad in coloured tiles, including Japanese majolica, and carries brick carvings, Koji pottery (交趾陶), and painted scroll panels by Chang Chiao (張叫), a fourth-generation master of the Donghua Shadow Puppet Troupe (東華皮戲團) and father of the shadow puppeteer Chang Te-cheng (張德成). Most of the Koji pottery figures have since been stolen, and newer buildings now crowd in on the house from the front.
