A zhaitang (齋堂), or fasting hall, of the Longhua (龍華) branch of the Zhaijiao (齋教) folk religion in Changhua, founded around 1819 and commonly known as the East Gate Vegetarian Hall (東門菜堂). The current layout took shape in 1905 with the purchase of additional land. Notable interior features include eight late Qing dynasty murals of the Four Heavenly Kings and Four Dharma Protectors painted on wooden panels by Ye Cheng (葉成), along with a couplet left by the eminent Buddhist reformer Master Taixu (太虛大師) following a week-long visit in 1917. It was registered as a historic building in 2025 but is only open to the public on special occasions.
