Completed in 1934, this building housed a music academy for beiguan (北管), a traditional form of Chinese music localized to Taiwan during the Qing dynasty era. The academy operated until 1994 after which it fell into disrepair. In 2012 it was recognized for its heritage value and the building was restored by 2020.
