The most prestigious of the staff residences built in 1936 beside what is now Changhua High School in Changhua City. It originally housed the principal of Changhua Elementary School (彰化尋常高等小學校), a Japanese colonial era school for Japanese children, and was built to a more generous standard than its counterparts at schools for Taiwanese pupils. The other residences are registered as historic buildings but this one was designated a county monument in 2018 on account of its larger size. It is in extremely poor condition and now awaits restoration.
