Only the gate remains of a former branch office of the Camphor Monopoly Bureau (樟腦專賣局) just north of Zhangyuan Police Station. In 1920 the Taiwan Camphor Company (臺灣製腦株式會社) expanded its east coast operations, taking over production areas formerly managed by Fujikawa and adding several new sites. Hokkien and Hakka workers were employed as camphor chiefs and porters, hauling camphor from the mountains to the office. A post-war camphor office was briefly established in 1947 but dissolved by 1949.
