An abandoned members-only clubhouse in the hills of Dakeng (大坑) in Taichung. It was part of the Barlong City Amigo Club (匯智龍城人文健身休閒會館), a planned network of over 15 lesiure complexes and wellness retreats across Taiwan, but only this one might have entered into service. The most prominent relic of this failed company is the Guanyinshan Amigo Club, which also details the rough outlines of the company’s collapse after only two years in operation.
This particular site was never finished, but it did feature tennis courts, a gym, a spa, and other facilities. Despite the troubles of the parent company this facility might have actually operated for a while, though it seems to have been abandoned by the early 2010s. The site has since been reclaimed by the surrounding jungle but renewed attention was brought to bear after it was featured in a series of popular YouTube adventure videos. Access might be possible from the original entrance on Zhoushui Lane (濁水巷)1, though the area is heavily overgrown and proper precautions should be taken by anyone choosing to visit. It is informally known as Deep Mountain Secret Tennis Courts (深山秘境網球場).
