Dongshan Amusement Park (東山樂園) was a water-themed park in the hills of Dakeng (大坑) that opened in 1988, in the same wave of development that produced nearby Katoli’s World and Encore Garden. Its main draws were a cluster of water rides amidst elaborate landscaping modelled on the karst scenery of Guilin and a towering statue of Guanyin. It closed in 2008, unable to withstand competition, and sat idle until Hione International Development (海灣國際開發) acquired the property in 2013 for NT$280 million. The site reopened in July 2020 as Hione World (海灣樂世界), a pet-themed park promoted as the largest of its kind in Asia.
