The point farthest from the sea in Taiwan as calculated by Canadian geographer Tyler Cottenie (李哲愷). It is 67.411 km from the nearest coastline (itself a nebulous boundary) but only around 150 meters from the nearest road in Alishan. Tyler visited the site in 2016 and placed a laminated bilingual sign on a tree within 5 meters of the exact spot. It was later featured in local news media and later visitors added a geocache to the site.
