The intake for a historic canal completed in 1928. Fashioned with red brick, it marks the beginning of a 21 kilometer-long diversion of Shangping River (上坪溪). It was originally used to irrigate farmland but nowadays also provides a water supply to the downstream science park recently famous for its many semiconductor factories. Registered as a heritage site in 2019.
