Pingzhen Theater (平鎮戲院) was established in 1951. Not much is known about its operating history, but it was already abandoned for decades by the time it was leased to artist Wei-Li Yeh (葉偉立) in 2008. This later history as the Rixin Street Art Studio (日新街工作室) lasted only a short time, as the old theater was sold and demolished to make way for new residential units in 2011.
