A traditional drum maker in Xinzhuang founded in 1927 by Wang A-tu (王阿塗) and run since 1973 by his son Wang Hsi-kun (王錫坤). It is the last of the five or six drum makers that once operated in the burgeoning suburb, and its drums are used by temples and percussion ensembles across Taiwan. According to a single blog account, an old drum left with the workshop around the 1980s was found to bear the name of Taiwan-jinja once its red paint was sandblasted away.

I am a web application developer, photojournalist, urban explorer, and history enthusiast passionate about the open web and documenting my experiences on this planet.
