A former Shinto shrine overlooking Bitan in Xindian, New Taipei. It was planned in the mid-1930s and completed in 1939. In the post-war era it was demolished to make space for the ROCAF Martys’ Cemetery in 1950. Most relics were destroyed, but many stone lantern bases can still be found at the cemetery; the komainu (stone guardian lions) can now be found at the nearby Taiping Temple (太平宮); the ablution basin is in the courtyard of a building (瑠公新店綜合紀念大樓) near Xindian MRT station; and some complete stone lanterns themselves were relocated to Treasure Hill Guanyin Temple in Zhongzheng, Taipei. It was known as Bunzan-jinja in the original Japanese.
