Taipei Rixin Theater (台北日新戲院) - Spectral Codex
台北日新戲院

Golden age cinema established by the Ruifang-based Jianji Coal Mine (建基煤礦) Li family in 1966 on land purchased from Zhou Chen Yushu (周陳玉樹). In 2003 the Li family sold the property to Songyang Group (松陽機構) and operations ceased in 2004. Xiutai Cinema (秀泰影城) subsequently took over, followed by Vieshow Cinemas (威秀影城) in 2007, which introduced Taiwan’s first IMAX theater. Vieshow closed in August 2020; the building was demolished in 2021 to make way for a 23-story commercial tower. It was also known as Daxin Theater (大新戲院) at some point in its operating history.
