One of three major theaters established in Ximending in 1935, right around the time of the Taiwan Exhibition. Initially known as Daisekai-kan (大世界館), this was a large and luxurious theater with a capacity nearing 2,000. It was in continuous operation until 1997, when the last film was screened and the theater soon vanished into history. The site is now occupied by the Dashijie Commercial Building (大世界商業大樓).
