An abandoned village on Xiji Islet (西吉嶼) in southern Penghu. Settlement began in the late Qing era after restrictions on development were lifted, and by the Japanese era there were 55 traditional courtyard houses. Due to its remote location and lack of a harbor, the government facilitated resettlement in 1978 and the island has been uninhabited since. The islet is now part of Penghu South Sea Islands National Park, and visitors occasionally make the crossing to explore the ruins.
