A Japanese immigrant village established on the outskirts of Taitung City in 1938. It was originally comprised of four settlements scattered across an expanse of land now bisected by the Taitung Airport, from Upper Kangle (上康樂) to central Kangle (康樂) further east. Not much remains of the original village today, and it is somewhat unusual in not having the usual chessboard street layout.
