Built in 1915 as the official residence of the Taitung Prefecture Administrator, this single-story Japanese wooden building is the most complete surviving Japanese colonial era structure in Taitung County. After the war it was seized by the KMT and continued as the county magistrate’s residence. Designated a historic building in 2002, it is now open to the public and occasionally used for music events.
