A cluster of Japanese residences built in 1932 to provide living quarters for the police chief and several officers and their families. These dormitories retained their original function in the post-war era with the addition of air raid shelters. After restoration the site was converted into Taichung Literature Museum (臺中文學館). The official name according to the Cultural Bureau is Japanese Era Police Dormitories (日治時期警察宿舍).
