A former coal mine in the Chipilun (赤皮崙) area of Shuangxi’s Changyuan Village (長源里), established in 1952 by Lin Yide (林義德), a poet and timber merchant from a local tea-growing family. The mine produced high-quality, low-sulfur coking coal from the Mushan Formation (木山層) before being absorbed into Shuangxi Mining (雙溪鑛業) in 1960. A set of coke ovens (炭窯) near the trailhead have been cleaned up for public viewing, while the portal, transformer station, and worker housing deeper in the forest remain in various states of decay beneath the overgrowth.
