A former coal mine in the Shifen (十分) area of Pingxi, originally opened in 1965 by Taiyang Mining (臺陽礦業) with a shaft reaching 1,283 meters deep. It was reorganized as Xinpingxi Coal Mine Company (新平溪煤礦公司) in 1978 and sold to Gong Shiyong (龔詩詠) in 1985, who kept it operating until 1997 when rising costs and competition from imported coal forced closure. Gong retained the mining rights and converted the site into a museum in 2002, now known as Taiwan Coal Mine Museum (新平溪煤礦博物園區), featuring a simulated mine tunnel and historical artifacts. Registered as a historic building in New Taipei City in 2024.
