Completed in 1938, this second-generation railway bridge provided passage along the Old Mountain Line (舊山線). The original bridge on this site was heavily damaged in the 1935 Hsinchu-Taichung Earthquake and had to be replaced. This bridge was decommissioned in 1998 along with the rest of this stretch of the Mountain Line. It is also known as Liyutan Bridge (鯉魚潭橋).
